This week I found
newsletter no one asked by jordan santos and one piece in particular really stuck out to me. So much so that I decided to create my own list of twenty things I’d rather do than be one my phone. You can read Jordan’s list HERE!I’ve noticed that so far in 2024 I have been better about not scrolling mindlessly on Instagram or TikTok, but I still have those days when I am bored and “think” I have nothing else to do and before I know it I am down a TikTok rabbit hole, searching for $20 bags of Swedish candy, or somehow end up on a friend of a friend of a friend of a friends Instagram looking at pictures from 2016. Now thanks to the inspiration from Jordan, I will have my own list of things I can do instead of be on my phone.
Crochet my temperature blanket.
Read one of the 5 books I am currently reading or listen to an audiobook.
Go for a walk and listen to nothing but the sounds of nature
Sit outside and soak up some vitamin D.
Journal. I created this list of 100 journal prompts months ago and still come back to it if I am feeling stuck or need a little inspiration.
Stretch or do yoga.
Do a puzzle. I am currently working on a 1000 piece National Park one.
Meditate. Body scan meditations are my ultimate favorites.
Diamond art. This set is on my list to purchase next.
Practice self reiki.
Make my favorite “healthy” fudge. So delicious that I literally crave it all the time and it’s only 4 ingredients, is vegan, and takes 10 minutes to make. (Scroll ⬇️ for the recipe)
Spend 5-10 minutes cleaning or organizing. This usually turns into a lot longer because once I start I can’t stop.
Make a DIY face mask and have a little self-care hour.
Update my vision board. I try to change it out seasonally (or whenever I remember)
Call a friend or family member.
Look at old photos, scrapbooks, memories and reminisce.
Grab my weights and do a few exercises in the comfort of my own home.
Go to the store for all the ingredients to make a meal I have been craving.
Go to a secondhand bookstore with no book in particular in mind picking whatever speaks to me.
Let my mind wander.
So that’s my list I will keep close by for when I am and bored and think about heading over to TikTok or when I do find myself already down a rabbit hole.
Thanks again to
for the inspiration and don’t forget to check out her newsletter.Reminder!!!
The blurred image around your phone is called life.

I hear you withthe the scrolling thru socials. I made a rule that FB was not aloud on my phone. and for the last 3-4 months I uninstall IG and have IG hours. love the list we really do have SOOO many things to do. we just don't wanna do them lool
A great list! I make a list every day of things that I have to get done, but I always like to include a stretch of quiet time (preferably outside) to just "be" without devices. So easy to get sucked into the "scroll".
