Thirty, Flirty, and Thriving!?
A day in my life (on my birthday 🥳) and how I actually feel about turning 30…
It feels like just yesterday I was 13 at party wishing I was 30…oh wait I think that was from a movie.
Honestly, I don’t really remember ever wishing to be 30, but maybe the flirty and thriving part ;)
But here we are…I woke up the big 3-0. I have many mixed emotions, but I’ll share more on how I really feel about entering into my thirties later. I have a whole day planned ahead, so I thought I might bring you guys along. So here is…
A Day in My Life: Birthday Edition
8:00-8:30 am - Woke up around 8:00 and read some of Freida McFadden’s newest book, The Housemaid Is Watching and scrolled through social media.
8:30-9:00ish am - Got out of bed, dry brushed, fed the kitties, put in a load of laundry, and did my morning skincare.
Around 9:00 am - Did a 30 minute at home workout consisting of legs, abs, and yoga arm balances. I’m 17 days into my 10 minutes a day of strength training and I’m couple days behind which is why today I am doing 30 minutes.
Around 10:00 am - Breakfast time! I am usually up a couple hours before I even think about breakfast. Today I made some gluten free chocolate chip pancakes topped with a spoonful of peanut butter and a drizzle of honey.
10:00-11:00 am - Got ready for the day, folded and hung up laundry and packed my bag for the day.
11:45 am - Left on my drive to today’s kayaking spot. I wanted to listen to an audiobook and chose In The Deep by Loreth Anne White. Immediately after I started I realized I should have probably chosen something different because I’m already reading to 2 other thriller books and if I read multiple books within the same genre at the time, I sometimes get the plots confused. Luckily, I’m almost done with one of them.
12:30 pm - Talked to my BFF for my birthday.
1:00-3:00 pm - Kayaked in the river for about 2 hours. It was pretty hot out today, but on the water it was much nicer. It was so relaxing and I even threw on a 15 minute meditation to listen to.
3:00 pm - Immediately after I was done kayaking, I had to run to the store for a snack and drink because I was very hungry and very thirsty. I got a Chomps turkey stick and a Squirt. I wanted to find a used bookstore to checkout, but there were known close by so I decided to head back home.
4:30-5:00 pm - Once I got home I started on my birthday dessert. I made gluten free brownies and added mini marshmallows and chocolate chips on the top. It smelled heavenly 🤤
5:30 pm - Dinner time. I realized I missed lunch while I was out so I was extra hungry. I had a brat, homemade pasta salad, and potato salad.
6:00 pm - My family came we spent the evening outside, ate birthday brownies, sat by the fire, played volleyball, etc
10:30 pm - Ended the night with a self-care bath and face mask as I finished up writing this post and reading a few pages of The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah.









It was a good day :)
