The Sunday S.P.A.R.K.L.E.S. #5
Sharing, pausing, monthly ambitions, reading, ladies that are killing it, listening to, exploring, and shopping for
I decided to try something a little different for The Sunday Sparkles. You’ve seen on social media and even on here, the weekly R.E.P.O.R.T. This week I am doing something similar, but for S.P.A.R.K.L.E.S. If I decide I enjoy writing it and you enjoy reading it, I will continue doing something similar while adding in my usual sparkle moments from previous Sunday Sparkles. The letters for each word will remain the same, but the words will change.
S - sharing, shopping, saving for, savoring, smiling
P - prompt, pause, promote, purchasing, photograph, ponder, planning
A - admiring, achieving, accomplishing, accepting, addressing
R - reading, recommending, reminiscing, receiving, reorganizing, recognizing
K - keeping up with, kickstarting
L - lodging, learning, loving, listening, lounging
E - eating, embracing, exploring, expressing, embodying, embarking, enchanting
S - sharing, shopping, saving, savoring, smiling
So at the end let me know a 👍🏻 or 👎🏻 on this addition to The Sunday Sparkles. And whatever other feedback you would like to share!
SHARING my second Substack, Books & Nooks! I’ve been sharing about it on notes so you might have already known this, but on the off chance you haven’t, I would love it if you checked it out :) And if you enjoy reading and reading about books consider subscribing!
PAUSING to be in the present moment. Lately, as I have been out walking or sitting outside just enjoying the sun, I pause to take a few deep mindful breaths wherever I am. It helps me to feel relaxed and grounded. Not to mention it feels good to breathe in the fresh air. The next time you are outside for whatever reason it may be, pause to breathe and notice if you feel different after.
May’s monthly AMBITION is going for a walk everyday for 31 days. I really wanted to choose something that would get me outside for Spring and staying active. At first, I wanted to give myself the goal of walking 10,000 steps per day, but as someone that has definitely not been walking 10,000 per day, I decided to keep it at just going for a walk everyday. And bonus points if it is an outdoor walk. Will I still try to get 10,000 steps…probably and if I make it great, if I don’t also great because I still set out doing what I wanted to do. After my 31 walks in 31 days, I will recap to all of you how it went. What I saw, what I learned, what I liked, what I disliked, etc. Comment below if you would be interested in joining in with me. It can be like a book club, but with walking and no books. So really just a walking club. But that can still be fun too!
READING one of my secondhand bookstore finds, The Door-To-Door Bookstore by Carsten Henn. I’m only two chapters in, but so far it’s a cute and fun read!
These ladies have been KILLING IT here on Substack!
- with From My Heart to You!
- with megan’s musings and one of her most recent writings focus on what’s most important to you
- with All the Above and her pieces on Why Are We Trying To Capsule Our Wardrobe and Ritual Dressing. If you have ever thought about a capsule wardrobe, you should read these first.
If you aren’t already you NEED to give them a follow or subscribe!
LISTENING TO Ella Henry from Gut Feelings new podcast. I binged listening to the 3 episodes out so far on my 9 hour drive and was sad there weren’t more out yet lol. I loved them all, but this one was my personal favorite. So much great information and I can’t wait to hear what’s next.
EXPLORING Arkansas. I did visit Hot Springs National Park last year, but usually I am just driving through the state and don’t have much time to explore. While visiting my best friend in Mississippi, we weee able to take a day trip to Little Rock and Pinnacle State Park. I had no idea there were so many places to visit in Arkansas and after stopping at the visitor and picking up a state park passport book, I will be definitely be back for more. If you live in or have visited Arkansas let’s hear your must sees!
SHOPPING FOR a kayak. I have always loved being out on the water kayaking, but I usually rent or borrow from someone that already has one. I live pretty close to a lake and I want to take advantage of all the nice Spring and Summer days coming so I decided to purchase my own. And I need your recommendations. I found this inflatable kayak for only $98 on Amazon and it has decent reviews. I’m not trying to do anything crazy so I think something like this would be fine.

Thank you so much for including me, Leanna!! So incredibly sweet of you. It makes me so giddy that those two articles resonated with you.
I also love the S.P.A.R.K.L.E.S. format. I love that you've put your own twist on the R.E.P.O.R.T. version :)
