Sunny Side Up in September - The Harvest Issue
I’m trying something a little different with Sunny Side Up this month so I hope you enjoy :)
Ah September! The last of the summer sunshiny days. Enjoying natures finest moments with sun-kissed skin and a season full of memories. Watching as the effortlessly beautiful summer sunsets slowly bring forth the cool crisp autumn mornings and a changing of colors.
I love all the seasons ❄️🌷☀️🍂 Each with their own unique beauty. BUT I am a summer girl at heart so September is bittersweet for me. I’m grateful for a place with all four seasons as I know the reason summer is so magical is because it doesn’t last forever. And I know to cherish those three months even more. So when the last day of summer comes along, I’ll let it go until next year and fully embrace fall, but you better believe I will be taking in every second up until then.
my September intention
To be fully present in each day while enjoying the last days of summer and embracing the changes leading into the next season.
It’s been hard for me to stay in the moment when everywhere I see is posts about fall, people putting up Halloween decorations, fall festivals, fall sports, etc. while I am simultaneously writing pitches about fall so they can be ready in time. Don’t get me wrong, I am excited about this next season and all that it offers, but I still want to appreciate what is happening in the present moment.
The easiest place for me to be present is in nature so I plan to spend time outdoors everyday (even if it’s just for a few minutes) breathing in the fresh air, going for long walks and simply taking it all in.

2 bigger goals want to accomplish this month
I created This guide to making your own skincare at home starting with double cleansing and I am working on the rest of the guide to hopefully be available early October. It will include face oil, cleansing facial/body bar, face moisturizers, serums, toner, body oil, body cream, deodorant and potentially a few recipes for hair care.
Build up my writing portfolio and send out writing pitches to more companies. I shared the note below a few days ago and ever since I have been so motivated to keep writing!!
1 sunshine story
A dog at a shelter in Michigan repeatedly escapes and sneaks into a nursing home. Scout, an abused stray mutt took it upon himself to find his forever home and he chose Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility after climbing over 2 tall fences, crossing a busy highway, and walking right through the doors of the long-term care facility not 1, not 2, but 3 times.
Marna Robertson, the nursing home’s administrator, said “I’m a person who looks at outward signs, and if it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. He did that one time, two times, three times, and obviously that’s something that you should pay attention to. And I asked the staff, ‘Well, he wants to be here. Would anybody like to have a dog?’ ”
The staff formally adopted him and all the residents adore him as he wanders around, visits, and rests as he pleases. You can read the full story here!

Awww, that story about the dog in Michigan is just adorable! 🥰
My September is going to be filled with trips into town to the bookshops and library's, reading, walking and baking! I would like to bake some cinnamon swirls this Autumn. 😊♡
